So many ideas, so little time!

First of all, thank you to everyone who commented on my last entry! It was great hearing your thoughts and opinions, and I really appreciate all of your support~ ❤

I’m way excited to start writing more informative blog posts. Getting all my ducks in a row is proving to be a little more time-consuming than I thought. I have all of these ideas pouring out of my head, and I’ve somehow managed to write them all down. Now I’m in the process of sorting through them. It’s not easy choosing what should stay and what should go, let me tell you! XD

But it does feel nice have a goal that I can aim for. I’m definitely one of those people that gets more done when I have a clearly laid out plan. In some ways, planning everything out can be a bad thing because I end up taking too much time, but I find that it saves time in other ways, especially in the long run, when I take a little longer to organize.

At any rate, I have a question for y’all! I’m quite torn about which way I want to go for teaching some of the more complicated aspects of knitting/crochet. When I’m learning a new technique, I like watching videos on the subject more than reading written tutorials with pictures. It feels easier for me to commit it to memory if I can see the action actually being performed, and I often have a hard time following along with only pictures to guide me. But that may just be me. ^^’

So my question is, when you’re learning something new, do you prefer a video or a picture tutorial? I made this handy poll so that you can tell me your opinion in two quick clicks, but if you don’t mind elaborating on your choice in the comments, I’d love to read that as well!

Thank you again to everyone who reads, follows, and comments on my blog! Every time I see your comments or read your own blogs, I feel like the knitting/crochet community must be the best in the world, ha ha! 😀

I want this to turn into something useful.

It’s been over a week since I’ve written a post and I feel so bad!
I’ve been working hard on two new knitting patterns, and I’ve been so focused on those that I haven’t thought to write anything. But I do have a project that I’m finishing up and excited to share. Hopefully that will be up within a couple days.

In the meantime, I’ve been thinking really hard about which direction I want my blog to move in. Of course I intend to continue posting patterns, projects, and general yarn-related chitchat, but I’ve always been the type of person who wants to help others. I wanted from the beginning to use my blog to help others in some way, and I think that a plan is starting to form.

It wasn’t very long ago when I found myself venturing into the yarn section for the first time. I can remember clearly how I felt when I came face-to-face with all the brands, types, and weights that were for sale. It was intimidating, to say the very least.
I felt the same way when I first started looking at knitting needles and, to a lesser extent, crochet hooks for the first time. Luckily, I had someone to help me out with my first knitting choices, but I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen people struggling in the craft store as the sales associates tell them that they have no idea how knitting/crochet works. (I’ve stepped in and helped people before because I felt so bad that they couldn’t get any help!)

I guess here’s where I’m going with this: I want to start a series geared toward helping new yarnies find which way is up when they take the plunge into knitting/crochet. I don’t how many people I can help with my little blog, but even if it helps out a couple people, it’s worth it to me. 🙂

I still have a bit more planning to do, but I’m thinking that I’ll make my first beginner series post in the next few weeks. I’m really looking forward to writing it, and I hope that it goes well~<3
